Updated 7 October 2026. Generate More is a Helsinki-based AEO and AI SEO agency for Nordic and international B2B software companies, founded in 2024 by Lari Numminen. I test AI search tools hands-on for client work. My first review of RankPrompt dates from January 2026, and I tested its outreach features again in September 2026 for a B2B software client.

What is RankPrompt in 2026?

RankPrompt is an AI search visibility platform from Miami that combines tracking across six AI engines with tools to earn the citations that drive visibility. Its most distinctive feature is Citation Outreach, which finds the pages AI engines cite in your category, identifies the people behind them and sends personalised email campaigns from your own Gmail account. The homepage now reads "Track and improve your AI search visibility" and promises to show what to change so ChatGPT recommends your business.

Who is behind RankPrompt?

RankPrompt "started as an internal tool at a marketing agency", according to its About page, and became a standalone product in 2024. The page names Nazareno Castro Bay, Trevor Anderson, Ethan Kramer, Kristopher Cole Feigl and founding engineer Tomas Marengo, and the company's own summary lists Trevor Anderson as founder. The team is small, and its agency roots show in the product: plans scale to 1,000 brands, with white-label reports and a white-label app on the top tiers.

RankPrompt ships quickly. Its changelog shows Backlink Outreach and an Email Hub in January 2026, then a public REST API, an MCP server, webhooks, PowerPoint exports and author-level outreach in September 2026, followed the same month by a lead widget, Google keyword data, ChatGPT ads audiences and citations by domain.

How does RankPrompt's Citation Outreach work?

The outreach page describes a workflow that runs from finding a target to proving the result.

  1. Find cited pages. RankPrompt locates the sites that ChatGPT, Perplexity and other engines cite when recommending products in your category, and gives each a Rank Prompt Score from 0 to 100, where 70 or more means the site is likely reachable.
  2. Find the people. Contact discovery extracts names, roles and emails from cited sources, and since September 2026 it can target the authors and journalists behind specific cited pages.
  3. Send from your own inbox. You connect Gmail through OAuth and send AI-personalised emails from RankPrompt, with a default limit of 50 emails a day per connected account, inbox warm-up and multi-step sequences with automatic follow-ups.
  4. Track and verify. Opens, clicks and replies are tracked automatically, and RankPrompt counts citations to the exact URL you published before and after the publish date.

Templates with merge tags, contact lists, CSV import and a blacklist round out the feature. Gmail is the only mailbox listed on the integrations page, and I found no mention of Outlook or SMTP sending.

Is RankPrompt still unique in AI search outreach?

Yes, among the tools I have tested. Other platforms have moved towards outreach, but none of them sends campaigns from your own inbox. Peec AI's MCP use case finds listicle authors and saves pitches as Gmail drafts for you to send. Profound's outreach runs through Noble, a managed service that handles negotiation and paid placements. Promptwatch lists off-site mention opportunities, and Arvow added AI Mentions in August 2026 to turn cited sources into publisher opportunities. RankPrompt is the one that covers finding, sending, following up and verifying in the same product.

What else does RankPrompt do?

  • AI visibility tracking across six engines on every plan, in 31 report languages and 191 countries.
  • Citations and sources, including citations grouped by domain.
  • Content Studio for content built around visibility gaps, plus keyword research with Google keyword data.
  • AI traffic analytics, a brand perception audit and a technical SEO audit.
  • An in-app AI agent with more than 120 tools that act on your account.
  • Scheduled and white-label reports, with PowerPoint export.
  • API, webhooks and MCP. The MCP server uses OAuth 2.1, works with Claude Code, Cursor and Claude Desktop, and is available on any plan, including free.

How much does RankPrompt cost in 2026?

The early "contact us" pricing I described in January has been replaced by self-serve, credit-based plans. Every paid plan has a 7-day free trial with 50 credits, according to the pricing page.

Plan Monthly Annual (per month) Credits per month Brands Seats Notes
Free $0 $0 10 (one full report) 3 1 API and MCP included
Starter $49 $39 150 10 Owner only Citation and backlink outreach discovery
Pro $89 $71 500 100 2 Adds Gmail outreach and multi-step email campaigns
Agency $149 $119 1,000 500 10 Adds white-label reports
Agency Plus $299 $239 2,000 1,000 25 Adds your own domain and a white-label app

For outreach, Pro at $89 a month is the real starting point, since sending from Gmail and running sequences are not part of Starter. All six engines are included on every plan.

Who is RankPrompt for?

RankPrompt fits agencies and small AEO or SEO teams that already believe third-party mentions drive AI visibility and want a repeatable way to earn them. The plan structure, with hundreds of brands, white-label reporting and MCP access, leans strongly towards agencies. Teams that only need monitoring, or that already run outreach through a dedicated sales engagement tool, may not use the feature that sets RankPrompt apart.

What I found when I tested RankPrompt

My first review in January 2026 came from six weeks of testing more than 20 AI visibility tools, and RankPrompt stood out as the only one treating external citation building as a core feature. Its agency reporting and city-level tracking were also useful, and the built-in content tools covered basic needs.

RankPrompt citation outreach overview from my January 2026 review

From my first RankPrompt review (January 2026)

In September 2026 I tested the outreach workflow end to end for a B2B software client. Finding cited pages and contacts worked well and produced a target list I would otherwise have built by hand over several days. Connecting Gmail took more effort than I expected, and it was not as natural as sending from my own inbox, so the engagement side took some learning before it ran smoothly. That is less a criticism than a sign of how new the feature is: no other tool I have tested asks you to run citation outreach inside an AI visibility platform, and it rewards the time spent setting it up.

What do RankPrompt reviews say?

RankPrompt has 5.0 out of 5 from 33 reviews on G2. Reviewers mention an interface that "leans slightly too technical" and that history only starts from the day you begin tracking. Its Trustpilot profile has no reviews yet.

RankPrompt compared with similar AI visibility tools

RankPrompt, LLMrefs, Scalenut and Gumshoe all start at or under $100 a month, and each is built around a different idea. The table shows what sets each one apart.

Tool What sets it apart Entry price Best fit
LLMrefs Keyword-first tracking that fans each keyword out into prompts $79/month, one plan SEO teams and small agencies that think in keywords
Scalenut Tracking bundled with a content writer, backlink marketplace and Reddit replies $59/month ($24 billed annually) SMB content teams that want one cheap all-in-one tool
Gumshoe Every prompt runs as an AI-inferred buyer persona $99/month per project B2B brands selling to several buyer roles
RankPrompt Citation outreach sent from your own Gmail, with before-and-after citation checks $49/month (outreach from $89) Agencies and small teams that want to act on citation gaps

Best RankPrompt alternatives in 2026

If you do not need built-in outreach, these are the AI visibility tools I recommend most often.

  • Writesonic is the alternative I recommend most often. Its $79 Starter plan tracks 50 prompts daily across ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, and its Action Center, which turns gaps into on-page and off-page tasks, is available from the $399 Growth plan.
  • Promptwatch starts at $95 a month for 50 prompts and includes MCP and API access on every plan.
  • Peec AI offers daily tracking with unlimited users from its Starter plan.
  • Otterly AI starts at $29 a month for 15 prompts and is the cheapest prompt-based tracker I have tested.
  • Profound is the enterprise option, with custom pricing after a 7-day free trial of 50 prompts and the widest engine coverage on its Enterprise plan.

My conclusion on RankPrompt

RankPrompt remains the most distinctive tool in this group. Most AI visibility platforms tell you where you are missing, and RankPrompt helps you fix it by finding the pages AI engines trust, reaching the people behind them and checking whether citations follow. The 2026 releases, from author-level outreach to an MCP server on the free plan, show a small team moving fast.

Plan for a learning curve. Outreach runs through a Gmail connection with daily sending limits, and campaigns need Pro or above. For an agency that sells AI visibility results, not just reports, that effort is worth it.
